Pollinator Habitat and Ecological Restoration

The Pollinator Hillside began as a research site to display an alternative to having turf, but has continued to be a dazzling display of color, structure, and life. This garden was originally installed under the leadership of graduate student, Nicole Cavender and Professor Michael Knee along with many Chadwick volunteers.

Ecological restorATION ON THE HILLSIDE

Visitors can stroll along this hillside garden at both the base and the summit to view the work that has been done over the past 5 years by Professor Matt Davies and his Ecological Restoration class. This class's hands-on learning has contributed to the removal of thousands of invasive honeysuckle bushes along this hillside, while trialing different planting methods to help replace them with plants that are healthier for our ecosystem. If you visit in the fall, you will likely see the student's work!
