GIS and Accessions Manager position has been extended (Use Headline 5 format)

The grant for our GIS and Accessions Manager position has been extended for another year! We are so grateful for the talents of Chris Voise as she continues to lead our tree mapping efforts campus wide!

We are also near the goal line of updating and installing plant labels for our extensive collections—both woody and herbaceous! This is a monumental task.

In late October we planted 19 native trees in 3 locations on the agriculture campus --  on the east side of Kottman Hall, in the Learning Gardens, and on the north side of the Animal Science building. This event, known as ArboBlitz, has become increasingly popular and provides an opportunity for students on campus to plant a tree under the guidance of Chadwick Arboretum staff, FOD staff,  and colleagues from industry. For many of our students this was the first tree they had ever planted! This activity also fulfills a requirement for ensuring our prestigious Tree Campus USA certification.
