Spring Plant Sale & Auction Fundraiser (Cancelled)

In response to the COVID-19 virus Chadwick Arboretum’s 2020 Spring Plant Sale & Auction Fundraiser will unfortunately be cancelled. 

Thursday, May 7, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Friday, May 8, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 9, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: Northwest corner of Lane Avenue & Fred Taylor Drive
Free Parking. 

  • The Spring Plant Sale will offer over 16,000 curated selections of new and unusual perennials and annuals, native Ohio plants, colorful hanging baskets, heirloom and organic vegetables, specialty trees, unusual and dawrf conifers, rain garden plants and much more.
  • Attendees will also find a unique and varied selection of gardening tools, hand crafted jewelry, stationery, garden art, honey and maple products.

  • All plants are handpicked by a team of horticulturists, which seeks out a wide variety of plants of the highest quality, with the most successful growth potential and that are disease resistant.
  • Bevel Edge Sharpening will be on site Friday 12:00-6:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00-3:00 p.m. to sharpen your gardening hand tools.
  • Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm will be a large container planting competition between Chadwick Arboretum Executive Director, Mary Maloney, Deb Knapke, author and founder of the Garden Sage, and Ann Fisher of WOSU radio program “All Sides.” The featured planters will then be auctioned-off during the Friday, 4:00 p.m. Premium Tree and Shrub Auction.

  • Chadwick Arboretum Horticulturists and Master Gardeners will be available to answer any gardening questions. 
  • Proceeds from this event benefit the OSU Chadwick Arboretum, OSU student organizations, and local vendors.
