Over 10,000 curated selections of new and unusual perennials and annuals, native Ohio plants, heirloom and organic vegetables and herbs can be found at the Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens annual Spring Plant Sale.
All plants are chosen to provide a wide variety of plants with time-tested and new cultivars, of the highest quality, and with the most successful growth potential for growing conditions in Ohio. Plus, Chadwick Arboretum Horticulturists and the Franklin County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will answer garden related questions about edible and ornamental plants.
Alongside a wide variety of perennials and annuals, vegetables and herbs, visitors will find colorful hanging baskets, hypertufa planters, planted and unplanted, and rain garden plants. Ohio State University student horticulturist organizations will sell vegetables and the Plant Pathology Graduate Students Association will offer native plants for sale.
Proceeds from this event benefit the OSU Chadwick Arboretum and OSU student organizations.
"We are delighted to be returning this year!” explains Brenda Allinger, plant sale co-chair for the Chadwick Arboretum. “For the organic gardener we are offering a good variety of organic herbs and vegetables. I also assure you we have consider everything to keep this incredible plant sale fundraiser tradition alive, yet safe for our customers and the volunteers who make it possible."
And all proceeds benefit our education and research programs at The Ohio State University year-round. We’ve chosen plants we know will be successful for you, and in turn you’re helping to support this one-of-a-kind arboretum and public learning garden.
