Art in the Gardens
The gardens are a great inspiration for artists and numerous artworks can be found throughout them.
One of the well known artworks found in the gardens is the praying Mantis sculpture, named "Annabelle", which is located in the Phenology Gardens. This 15 X 11 ft. steel sculpture was designed by sculptors Pat Belisle of Plain City and Chris Saylor of Marysville. The science of Phenology studies recurring biological phenomena such as the blooming of wildflowers and tress, seasonal appearance of insects and bird migration, and their relationship to weather, so Annabelle's presence in the gardens is very fitting.
